The juice had 4 organic carrots, organic spinach, organic collards and organic apples. It was pretty good.
For lunch I ate a hot dog off a food cart, in an effort to build some new friends in the business because I too am starting a food cart business.
The dog was pretty good. It had sweet chili, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and sprinkled with a parsley. Not sure it’s “organic” nature but I only ate one.
For dinner I plan on making some wild caught Alaskan cod.

Day 1 complete?

Cant say it was as successful as I wanted but it’s a start.

Breakfast consisted of McDonald’s “fruit & maple oatmeal”…

Lunch consisted of Subway “grilled chicken sub” with every veggie they offer minus tomato and oil/vinegar.

Dinner was awesome. My cousin made an organic “enchilada” casserole using only organic MSG-free ingredients.

Again, the coca cola stared at me and I did well and refused it…however…

On the way home I stopped for gas and was extremely thirsty. I grabbed two liters of water and then it hit me…
I felt like an alcoholic getting a beer after a meeting… I bought a fountain drink. Coke to be exact.

I felt bad but it made me feel good. This stuff really is addicting, anyone who says otherwise is full of shit. I have real cravings for soft drinks and they make me feel more “at ease” and calm. It’s absurd.

Tomorrows a new day. Pray for me.

This is a zucchini grown in the back yard of my cousins house,...

This is a zucchini grown in the back yard of my cousins house, incredible! No pesticide, no hormones, just rain, water & sunlight.

Fast food

I came to my decision to officially change my life for good on a work trip out of town. The town im in is VERY small, it’s called Lampasses, TX. Lampasses only really has a few places to eat and they are all fast food. We have Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, Sonic, & McDonalds.
Anyways, I can’t really go to the grocery store in my position so I was left to decide between the places.
I ended up going with the “Fruit & Maple Oatmeal” and “Yogurt Parfait”. To most that sounds like a healthy option but don’t be deceived, that “yogurt” is non-organic and infused with a frozen fruit HFCS mess. The oatmeal is even worse. The oats are some instant oat nonsense and have real apples and raisins but are doused in some HFCS based “maple” syrup.
Pretty disappointing start, but I guess it’s better than a fake meat cheese processed burrito thing or an egg mcmuffin.

Cravings & Addiction

It’s the night before I’m set to change my lifestyle forever and I’m doing a lot of reflecting.
My goal for tonight was to drink more water than usual. I got up to use the restroom and I see a 12 pack of Coca-Cola on the counter - unopened.
My instincts are telling me to KILL it! Grab one and chug, take another to bed. It’s a struggle because I’ve realized this is a real addiction. I’m having a very tough time imagining a life free of sugar, flour, HFCS and other things I’ve consumed multiple times per day my whole life. I didn’t succumb. Once I make up my mind about something, I don’t go back on it. This is going to be a HUGE adjustment.

ohrlyowl:

Just one example of cures for cancer and general health. ( plus there’s cute animals involved )

I have since resorted to my old lifestyle with an occasional juice and have regained 10 lbs and have noticed more blemishes on my body and less energy than when I was actively juicing.

Day #1 starts tomorrow

But I don’t want to look at it that way, because you don’t count the days of your life, you just LIVE.

I continue to be pulled towards a lifestyle revolving around organic produce, fresh fruit and vegetable juice and free of MSG, HFCS and Aspartame.

I had a brain tumor removed in 2007 and was never really given a reason other than just “an unnatural mutation”, however not cancerous i’m concerned that my “2 gallons of diet soda per day” lifestyle I used to live had something to do with it.

Along with all of this i’m fascinated at the general lack of education regarding what we put into our mouths on a daily basis including substances like MSG, High Fructose Corn Syrup and Aspartame in particular.

This blog will help serve to keep me in line with my new nutritional goals and I will use this to post my stories, photos of weight loss progress and other educational facts.
